Blue tick verification is now available on Facebook and Instagram for those who are ready to pay for it. According to parent company Meta, the price of its new service, Meta Verified, would be $11.99 for web users and $14.99 for iPhone users per month. This week, the service will be introduced in Australia and New Zealand.

CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, made the announcement and claims that 'it will increase trustworthiness and security on social networking platforms'.

In addition to a blue badge, enhanced visibility for their postings, protection from impersonators, and simpler access to customer service, the service will benefit individuals. For high-profile accounts, badges, or "blue ticks," have been employed as verification techniques to indicate their validity.

Businesses are not yet able to use the new subscription service, but anyone can pay for verification.

It's crucial to note that while this move won't affect accounts that have already been confirmed, certain smaller users that get verified as a result of the paid feature will see an increase in visibility.

It will be fascinating to observe whether other social media networks implement paid verification services in a similar manner. For the time being, people in Australia and New Zealand can use Meta Verified to obtain their blue badge on Facebook and Instagram.
